CarCharging Subsidiary, Beam Charging, Partners with iPark to Offer Electric Car Charging Services in New York

NYSERDA Award Provides EV Drivers with Access to Charging Services Throughout New York City

MIAMI BEACH, Fla., March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Beam Charging, a wholly owned subsidiary of Car Charging Group, Inc. (OTCQB: CCGI) ("CarCharging"), announced that through its partnership with iPark, formerly Imperial Parking, a garage operator based in New York for over 60 years, electric vehicle (EV) charging services are now available in New York City, New York. The new charging stations are located at 332-342 East 34th Street and 300 West 55th Street, and can be accessed via the valet attendants.

332-342 East 34th Street is an underground parking facility located in the Kips Bay area. The property is near NYU Medical Center, NYU School of Medicine, Tisch Hospital, AMC Loews Kips Bay, New York Sports Club, and TD Bank as well as a variety of shops and restaurants.

300 West 55th Street is an underground parking garage located off 8th Avenue, just three blocks away from Columbus Circle and Central Park. The property is one block from Broadway and is in close proximity to CVS and Starbucks.

The EV charging stations for these locations were deployed in association with Beam Charging's award from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

"In order to sustain EV drivers in urban areas like New York City, it is imperative that drivers who do not have access to a dedicated charging station have access to public charging infrastructure," said Michael D. Farkas, Chief Executive Officer of CarCharging.  "With the support of NYSERDA and partners like iPark, we are able to accommodate these drivers and provide EV charging services throughout New York City."

"At iPark, we believe that a great parking experience begins and ends with the people on the front line," said Tim Mustafaj, iPark. "By adding EV charging to the services that our valet personnel provide is an opportunity to add additional value to the services that we already provide to our customers."

Beam Charging utilizes EV charging stations known as Level II, which provide 240 volts with 32 amps of power to quickly recharge an electric vehicle's battery. EV drivers can easily request an RFID card online at www.carcharging.com, and can be utilized to initiate use and payment at these stations. All of the stations managed by Beam Charging also accept payment via credit card.

Users can pinpoint all of Beam Charging's EV charging station locations, including those installed as a result of the NYSERDA award, on the locations map at www.CarCharging.com.  Additional stations can also be found at www.BlinkNetwork.com.
