Car Charging Group, Inc. and King Airport Parking Partner to Provide Electric Vehicle Chargers to Travelers at Jacksonville International Airport

MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Jan. 12, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Car Charging Group, Inc. (OTCBB:CCGI) today announced it has signed an agreement with King Airport Parking, LLC to install and maintain the first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the Jacksonville area. Customers utilizing King Airport Parking's facility at 1771 Airport Road in Jacksonville, FL, near the Jacksonville International Airport, will have access to Level II, 240 volt ChargePoint® Networked Charging Stations, manufactured by Coulomb Technologies.

"As part of the developing smart grid, we will install Coulomb 'smart charging' stations – one of the most advanced and integrated way to charge EVs," said Michael D. Farkas, CEO of Car Charging Group. "Plus they are remotely operable, so travelers can use a free iPhone or BlackBerry App to start the charging session to best accommodate their travel plans."

With this strategic partnership, Car Charging Group has taken one step further towards its objective of developing and operating a full nationwide network of charging stations for electric vehicles in designated parking areas of public and private property, such as multi-family residential and commercial buildings, parking garages, shopping malls, municipalities, sporting venues and other convenient charging locations.

"Flying is stressful enough. The last thing our customers need to worry about is if their electric vehicle will be charged up and ready to drive upon their return," said Alex Sivar of King Airport Parking. "By installing EV charging stations at King Airport Parking, we are able to offer a value added service to our customers and allay these concerns for travelers utilizing Jacksonville International Airport."

The 7.2 kW output delivers Level II (208/240 V @ 30 A) charging via the standard SAE J1772™ connector and fixed 18-foot cable. The 2 kW output delivers Level I (120 V @ 16 A) charging via a standard NEMA 5-20 receptacle protected behind a locking door. Both outputs can deliver energy simultaneously.

Car Charging provides EV charging stations at no charge to property owners/managers while retaining ownership, thus allowing drivers access to convenient locations and landowner partners to realize a percentage of the charging revenue generated.
