Car Charging Group and Union Station Parking Garage Celebrate New EV Charging Stations in Washington, D.C.

"Plug-In" Ceremony to Take Place June 30th

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. and WASHINGTON, June 28, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Car Charging Group, Inc. (OTCBB:CCGI), a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging services, and the Union Station Parking Garage will conduct an EV "plug-in" ceremony on Thursday, June 30th at 11 a.m. to celebrate the installation of EV charging stations in the Union Station Parking Garage. The event will take place on Level 1 of the parking garage. Following a car charging demonstration attendees will have the opportunity to conduct their own EV test drives.

Car Charging Group installed Level II ChargePoint® Networked Charging Station, manufactured by Coulomb Technologies, for EVs at the Union Station Parking Garage located at 30 Massachusetts Ave. NE. The garage is managed by USPG LLC, a collaboration of Colonial Parking Inc. and Epark of Washington, D.C., two of the leaders in parking in the D.C. area. Andrew C. Blair, Chairman of USPG had this reaction to the installation of the car charging stations, "We are thrilled that our garage has been chosen for this visionary project. It shows that the parking of vehicles can be consistent with energy conservation." The new charging stations constitute only the fourth public EV charging facility in the D.C. area.

"We are excited to celebrate the installation of these charging stations," said Michael D. Farkas, chief executive officer of the Miami Beach, Fla.-based Car Charging Group. "President Obama has made it a goal to have 1 million electric vehicles on our roads by 2015. These stations, a mere stone's throw from the Capitol, represent our commitment to ensuring that the President's goal is achieved."

Car Charging Group will use an EV for the demonstration and test drives. The two models were recently purchased for the federal fleet as part of a federal initiative to adopt advanced vehicle technologies.
